Digital Society Online (DSO)
VR Collaboration Platform
Overview
Digital Society Online (DSO) is a virtual reality application developed during COVID to enable social meetups, creative collaboration, and remote meetings when physical gatherings were not possible.
The goal was to create a VR space that supports real interaction without turning meetings into a game.

Challenge
The core challenge was balancing professional collaboration tools with engaging interaction:
-
Designing systems that support meetings similar to real life.
-
Introducing interactive activities without over-gamifying the experience.
-
Implementing shared, multiplayer object interaction in VR.
-
Ensuring objects could be manipulated naturally and persist correctly in a shared space.

Approach
As Developer and Project Lead, I focused on interactive collaboration systems:
-
Built a VR whiteboard system with marker interaction.
-
Implemented a dynamic post-it note system with surface attachment and re-grabbable behaviour.
-
Developed a multiplayer bow-and-arrow mini-game with high score tracking.
-
Structured object interaction logic allowing users to manipulate shared objects naturally.
-
Designed spaces that support both structured meetings and informal collaboration.
Results
The whiteboard and post-it systems enabled shared object interaction within a multiplayer VR environment while maintaining spatial consistency.
The vending mini-game and interaction tools operated within the synchronized environment without destabilizing object ownership logic.
Collaboration tools functioned reliably under typical VR session conditions.
